Aielli inaugurates Hiroshima-themed mural by artist Kotè

A new mural dedicated to Hiroshima has been inaugurated in Aielli, Abruzzo, created by the artist Antonio Cotecchia, known as Kotè. Located in Borgo Universo, the artwork is inspired by Sadako Sasaki, an international symbol of peace.

The project was promoted by Mazda Italia in collaboration with Borgo Universo. The initiative highlights the historical connection between the Japanese automotive brand and Hiroshima, where Mazda was founded in 1920. During the ceremony, Mazda Motor Italia CEO Roberto Pietrantonio stated that the project aims to encourage reflection rather than commercial interest, placing the message in a living public space.

Attendees included local and regional officials, students from the IIS Torlonia Croce institute, and Fumie Mochimaru, First Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Italy. The event served as a moment of cultural exchange and reflection on the collective responsibility toward peace.
