Aiello Calabro to host Mediterranean Diet Festival in 2026

The Mediterranean Diet Festival is set to return to the historic center of Aiello Calabro on September 19 and 20, 2026. Promoted by the Associazione Biologi Nutrizionisti Calabresi (ABNC), the event marks a significant relaunch following its previous edition in 2018.

The 2026 theme, ‘Cognitive longevity: what the villages teach us,’ explores the connection between nutrition, lifestyle, brain health, and aging quality within the social and community context of small towns. The festival aims to present the Mediterranean Diet not merely as a dietary model, but as a comprehensive heritage encompassing scientific knowledge, prevention, culture, and territorial identity.

The program is organized into five main pillars: science, health, and prevention; typical products, biodiversity, sustainability, and the environment; gastronomy and show cooking; culture and slow tourism; and various workshops, tastings, and masterclasses. The event will feature a national conference titled ‘Mediterranean Diet, aging and longevity – Nourishing the mind, living long’.
