AIFA-Pachuca train service to implement new fares on October 10

The train service connecting the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) with Pachuca and Buenavista will implement new fare structures starting October 10. This change marks the end of a promotional pricing period that had been in place for several months to encourage service usage.

Under the new regular pricing schedule established by the National Infrastructure Fund (Fonadin), fares will be determined by the distance traveled. Short trips of up to 12.8 kilometers will cost 11.50 pesos, while medium trips between 12.9 and 25.5 kilometers will cost 26.50 pesos. Longer trips between 25.6 and 37 kilometers will be priced at 40 pesos. The longest route, involving travel to or from the AIFA covering more than 41.2 kilometers, will cost 110 pesos per person.

The transition represents a significant increase for airport travelers; for example, the trip between Buenavista and AIFA will rise from a promotional 45 pesos to 110 pesos, a 144.4% increase. The rail line currently transports an average of 35,000 passengers daily.
