Greek road accidents claim multiple injuries and a fatality in June 2026

A 39‑year‑old driver was stopped on the Athens‑Corinth highway after radar recorded a speed of 203 km/h, well above the 130 km/h limit. Police say he attempted to bribe officers during the arrest and was charged with dangerous driving and attempted bribery.

In Pallini, a car left the road and struck a barrier, lightly injuring two young occupants. In Anavissos, a woman riding a small electric car lost control, entered oncoming traffic and fell into a ravine; she was rescued by fire‑fighters, treated for neck and arm injuries, and survived.

A 46‑year‑old motorcyclist died after his bike left the Kifissos beltway near Aigaleo and collided with steel barriers. In Loutraki, a private car collided violently with an ambulance, injuring the ambulance driver and the passenger. Finally, a 25‑year‑old motorcyclist was killed when his bike veered off the road and struck rocks in the Piggades area of Aitolo‑Akarnania. Authorities are investigating all incidents.
