Aigaleo: Group of 40 attacks four youths with clubs

A group of approximately 40 individuals launched a violent attack in the Aigaleo district of Western Attica during the early hours of Monday. The assailants, reportedly arriving on about ten motorcycles and wearing hoods, targeted a group of four young men aged 17, 18, 21, and 21 near the intersection of Souliou and Limnou streets.

Witnesses and victims reported that the attackers used clubs and sticks, asking the group “Which team are you?” before the assault. The victims were unable to defend themselves against the sudden onslaught. Local residents noted that the attackers appeared to be wearing insignia associated with a large Attica-based group and may have traveled from the Haidari area.

The Western Attica Crime Investigation Directorate is leading the investigation. Authorities are examining whether the attack was motivated by football hooliganism or a territorial dispute between neighborhoods. Investigators are also looking into the history of one of the 18-year-old victims, who reportedly had a prior history of involvement in fan-related violence.
