Aigües de Reus begins maintenance on wastewater treatment plant

Aigües de Reus has initiated a series of maintenance and repair works on the civil engineering structures of the Reus Wastewater Treatment Plant (EDAR). The project involves approximately twenty different interventions with a budget of 581,643 euros, excluding VAT.

The primary objective is to extend the facility's useful life by at least 25 years without requiring major future interventions. The works follow an inspection conducted in December that identified structural weaknesses and pathologies in various buildings and components, some of which date back to the early 1980s or even the 1930s.

This investment is part of the Reus Sanitation Replacement and Improvement Plan. Funding is largely provided by the Catalan Water Agency (ACA), which is responsible for sanitation policies throughout Catalonia.
