Aigio businesses to receive operating extension under new law

A new legislative proposal introduced by the Ministry of Development aims to extend the operating period for legally existing businesses within the Aigio Municipal Unit of the Aigialeia Municipality. The regulation seeks to resolve a long-standing issue for local enterprises by allowing them to continue operations until the publication of the relevant Local Urban Plan, and in no case later than December 31, 2027.

To qualify for this extension, businesses must not cause environmental or residential disturbances, subject to a decision by the Municipal Council. Panagiotis Andriopoulos, the Mayor of Aigialeia, described the development as a significant step for the local economy and job preservation. He credited the cooperation between local authorities and the Ministry of Environment and Energy, specifically mentioning Minister Stavros Papastavrou and Deputy Minister Marilena Soukoulis-Viliali, for their role in addressing these local concerns.
