Aigrim-Fipe addresses labor challenges in Italian restaurant industry

Riccardo Orlandi, president of Aigrim-Fipe, highlighted the critical need to attract and retain young workers within the restaurant sector during the AIGRIM Day 2026 forum in Milan. The event, organized by the Association of Large-Scale Catering and Multi-local Services, focused on the theme “The value of work, the future of catering.”

Industry leaders noted that while technology and artificial intelligence are evolving, human resources remain the essential foundation for the sector. A key challenge identified is balancing professional demands with the private life and leisure time priorities of the younger workforce, which currently makes up 40% of the industry's labor force.
