AIIMS CRE exam disrupted by technical failures in Jaipur
The AIIMS Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) 2026 faced significant technical disruptions at two testing centers in Jaipur, Rajasthan. During the initial sessions at the TCS-operated iON Digital Zone in Sitapura, power outages and server failures caused computer screens to shut down and systems to crash, affecting approximately 1,778 candidates.
Following the initial disruption, the AIIMS administration canceled the first shift at these specific centers to maintain exam integrity. A re-examination for the affected candidates was scheduled for September 7, 2026, in Jaipur.
However, during the re-examination attempt, further technical issues occurred. Reports indicate the exam started 30 minutes late due to server issues, and a second technical failure occurred just 20 minutes into the session. This recurring instability led to protests and demonstrations by candidates and parents outside the center. Some candidates noted that the same facility had experienced technical difficulties during a NEET-PG exam the previous day.
