AIIP requests removal of TIM branding from FiberCop infrastructure
The Italian Internet Providers Association (AIIP) has filed a new complaint with the Italian Competition Authority (AGCM) and the Communications Authority (AGCOM) regarding the presence of TIM branding on FiberCop infrastructure.
Following a previous report in January 2025 concerning TIM-branded vehicles and personnel, the AIIP is now targeting the physical street cabinets used to connect networks. The association argues that TIM logos and 'FIBRA OTTICA' stickers remain visible on these cabinets, which are part of the FiberCop network used to provide services to various competing operators.
Since the separation of TIM's fixed network on July 1, 2024, FiberCop has been recognized by AGCOM as a wholesale-only operator. The AIIP contends that while other operators must pay to use the network, the continued visibility of the TIM brand on shared infrastructure creates an unfair commercial advantage and violates network neutrality principles.
