Aika Kanda continues Route 66 road trip through Texas

Freelance announcer Aika Kanda has embarked on the second leg of a journey to traverse Route 66 in the United States. Following a previous attempt that started in Chicago, Kanda and her husband aim to complete the remaining 2,300 km from Oklahoma City to Santa Monica over five days.

Traveling in a Toyota SUV, the couple navigated through arid, desert-like landscapes and vast pastures. During their first day, they traveled approximately 415 km to Amarillo, Texas. The journey included stops at local landmarks such as Walmart for supplies and The Big Texan, a well-known steakhouse in Amarillo famous for its 72-ounce steak challenge.
