Aikido launches Altar AI model for secure cybersecurity defense

Belgian cybersecurity firm Aikido has released ‘Altar’, an open-weight artificial intelligence model designed specifically for cybersecurity applications. The model is a highly compressed and customized version of Z. AI’s open model GLM-5.3.

Designed to address concerns regarding data privacy and the risks of sharing proprietary code with cloud-based providers, ‘Altar’ allows organizations to run advanced AI security tools locally. This enables companies to maintain control over sensitive information while defending against criminals who use AI to exploit software vulnerabilities.

The model will be integrated into Aikido’s existing security solutions, which serve clients such as the Belgian bank Belfius. Aikido, which reached a $1 billion valuation in January, specializes in protecting digital infrastructure from evolving cyber threats.
