AIL Milano Monza Brianza celebrates 50 years of patient support

AIL Milano Monza Brianza will host an event on October 2 at the Istituto dei Ciechi in Milan to commemorate the association’s 50th anniversary. Titled “50 years alongside patients,” the meeting will feature research and care experts, as well as testimonies from patients and volunteers, to reflect on five decades of supporting those with oncological-hematological diseases.

Since its founding in 1976, the association has provided various services, including the “AIL Accoglie” program. This initiative includes 21 “Case AIL” facilities that have provided over 240,000 overnight stays, a medical accompaniment service that has completed 23,300 trips since 2013, and psychological support through clinics at the Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori and San Raffaele Hospital.
