Aillevillers-et-Lyaumont: Man found dead by gunshot near house fire

A 29-year-old man was found dead from a gunshot wound in the garden of a house in Aillevillers-et-Lyaumont, Haute-Saône, following a violent fire on Monday afternoon. The blaze, which was reported by neighbors, completely destroyed the residence.

Emergency responders discovered the body near a firearm found at the scene. The victim lived in the home with his mother. The Vesoul prosecutor's office has opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the death and to establish whether there is a link between the fire and the shooting. While an autopsy has been ordered, authorities are currently treating suicide as a primary hypothesis.
