Ain manufacturers sustain French snow globe production
Two small and medium-sized enterprises located in the Ain department of France are among the last remaining manufacturers of snow globes in the country. These companies, Bruot in Arbent and Les Éternelles in Meillonnas, compete against low-cost imports from China by focusing on high-end quality and innovation.
Bruot, founded in 1964 by Marcel Bruot, is currently managed by the third generation of the family and employs about twenty people. The company has secured prestigious contracts, including producing the official model for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and serving as the official supplier for the Eiffel Tower. The company also created a custom 3D-effect snow globe for President Emmanuel Macron.
