Aina Tufte reflects on life after the passing of Olaf Tufte

Aina Tufte has shared her first public reflections following the death of her husband, Olympic champion Olaf Tufte. In a Facebook post, she described the past five weeks as a period of “shock and bottomless grief” following his death from acute cardiac arrest in late July.

Aina Tufte expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support received from across Norway. She noted that while the practicalities of managing their farm continue, the values Olaf stood for—including honesty, gratitude, work ethic, and courage—remain a guiding presence. She emphasized a commitment to carrying his legacy forward through the community.
