Ains Reid bikes 270km to fundraise for BC wildfire relief

Ains Reid, a 21-year-old cyclist from Lakecountry, is conducting a 270-kilometre bike ride from Saskatoon to Regina to raise funds for the Canadian Red Cross’ 2026 British Columbia Wildfires Appeal.

Reid, who is currently away from his home in the Okanagan Valley, initiated the fundraiser in response to the Bald Range, Quilpituk Creek, and Bradley Creek wildfires. The initiative was motivated by his family's experience during the 2023 McDougall Creek wildfire, which left them on evacuation alert. The fundraiser has already raised over $7,000 online.
