AION 2 dominates Steam charts with 400,000 concurrent players

The MMORPG AION 2 has achieved a massive global launch on Valve’s Steam platform, reaching over 400,000 concurrent players. The title has secured top positions in several Steam categories, including most popular new releases, top sellers, and trending free-to-play hits.

Despite its free-to-play model, the game has seen significant revenue through expensive Founder’s Packs, which some players purchased to access early access starting September 30. The game’s success in Western markets, including the United States, Germany, Japan, France, and Brazil, follows a more difficult debut in South Korea in November 2025 that was marked by server issues and criticism regarding monetization.

New players are advised to utilize in-game lighting settings during character creation to ensure accurate color selection and to collect Empyrean Traces to turn in at regional Monoliths for various rewards and level progression.
