AION 2 enters early access with high Steam player counts

The MMORPG AION 2 has launched its early access period for Founder's Pack owners on Steam and the PURPLE launcher. The early access period provides a five-day head start before the official free-to-play launch scheduled for October 5.

Founder's Packs are available in three tiers—Standard ($24.99), Deluxe ($49.99), and Ultimate ($99.99)—which include a 30-day membership and various cosmetic items such as armor skins, weapons, and pets. The early access version is intended to be a complete experience, featuring high-level content, PvP, battlegrounds, and a functioning marketplace.

Upon its release, the game saw significant engagement, with SteamDB reporting that concurrent player numbers on Steam exceeded 170,000 on the first day. Developed using Unreal Engine 5, the game features a vast fantasy world set approximately 200 years after the original AION. Players can choose from eight distinct classes and utilize extensive character customization options, with over 200 adjustable parameters for appearance.
