AIPD Livorno members experience flight during inclusion event

The 'Volare Senza Limiti' (Flying Without Limits) initiative provided individuals with Down syndrome from the AIPD Livorno association an opportunity to experience flight as part of the 'Festa dell'Aria e dello Sport 2026'. Held at the Giacomo Puccini Airport in Tassignano, Capannori, the event focused on accessibility, inclusion, and overcoming barriers.

Participants, including David Tornar, Giorgio Cetra, and Giovanni Russo, were accompanied by the Lions Club Livorno Host and the Lions Club Livorno Porto Mediceo. The group experienced flights in aircraft provided by the Aero Club di Lucca. The broader event, themed 'Feel The Sky', also featured hot air balloon flights, light shows, and a conference regarding women, flight, and accessibility. Over thirty local sports associations participated in outdoor activities and creative workshops during the festivities.
