AIQBE appoints Laura Montes García as new manager amid Green Jobs Alliance launch

Laura Montes García has been appointed as the new manager of the Association of Basic Chemical and Energy Industries of Huelva (AIQBE), succeeding Rafael E. Romero following his retirement. Montes, an industrial engineer with experience at companies such as Abengoa and Bombardier Aerospace, will undergo a transition period with Romero to ensure organizational continuity. AIQBE President Juan del Olmo noted that her appointment represents an advancement for women in industrial leadership roles.

In Colombia, the Green Jobs Alliance (Alianza Empleos Verdes) has launched operations in the Urabá region to promote sustainable employment and local talent development. Part of the European Union’s Global Gateway investment strategy, the 42-month initiative aims to provide training, competency certification, and job intermediation across 28 municipalities in Antioquia, Caldas, and Valle del Cauca. EU Ambassador François Roudié emphasized the importance of preparing human capital to catalyze new investments and value chains in the region.
