Air Algérie adds Boeing 737 MAX 8 and ATR 72‑600, plans four new international routes

Air Algérie received its first Boeing 737 MAX 8, named "Freedom" (also reported as "El Houria"), and its first ATR 72‑600, named "Tassili", as part of a fleet renewal program that includes orders for ten 737 MAX 8s, sixteen ATR turboprops and Airbus A330‑900s. The delivery ceremony at Algiers International Airport also marked the inauguration of a new catering facility, the Air Taste Factory, covering 14 250 m² and capable of producing 40 000 meals a day.

Transport Minister Saïd Sayoud announced that the airline is preparing to launch four new international routes: to Brazzaville (Congo‑Brazzaville) and Conakry (Guinea) in Africa, and to Warsaw (Poland) and Berlin (Germany) in Europe. The new aircraft are intended to support these expansions and to strengthen Algiers as a hub linking Africa with Europe and Asia. Additional plans include creating a dedicated aircraft‑maintenance company before the end of 2026.
