Air Algérie launches new Algiers‑Libreville flight via Douala

On 16 June 2026 Air Algérie inaugurated a new international service linking Algiers International Airport with Libreville, Gabon, operating via a stop in Douala, Cameroon. The twice‑weekly flights (Tuesday and Friday) are part of the carrier’s strategy to expand its African network and reinforce Algiers as a regional hub. The ceremony was attended by Algerian transport minister Abdelghani Dridi, Gabon’s ambassador to Algeria Marie Rosine Mimi Itsana, and Air Algérie commercial division chief Abdmanaf Hadefi, who highlighted the route’s role in boosting economic, commercial and cultural exchanges across the continent. The new link joins earlier African routes such as Algiers‑Abuja and Algiers‑Ndjamena, supporting South‑South cooperation and broader connectivity for passengers and freight.
