Air Canada announces 2027 expansion with new European routes

Air Canada has announced a significant international expansion for the 2027 summer season, including the launch of new routes connecting Canada to several European destinations.

A key development is the introduction of a direct connection between Shannon Airport in Ireland and Toronto Pearson International Airport. Operating three times weekly, this will be the only direct link between Shannon and Canada, providing travelers in western and southern Ireland with an alternative to Dublin Airport. The route is scheduled to run through early October 2027.

Other new European routes include flights from Toronto to Oslo and Nice, as well as connections from Montreal to Basel and Dubrovnik. Air Canada plans to utilize the Airbus A321XLR, a narrow-body aircraft designed for long-haul intercontinental flights, to service several of these new routes. The airline also intends to increase flight frequencies on existing routes and expand its presence in other global markets, including China.
