Air Century adds CRJ200SF jet to expand cargo operations

Air Century has announced the upcoming addition of a CRJ200SF jet to its fleet to strengthen regional cargo operations and expand logistical solutions. The new aircraft, with the reserved registration HI1139, is capable of transporting up to 15,000 pounds of cargo.

Equipped with a wide door and rollers for containers, pallets, and loose cargo, the aircraft has an approximate range of 1,300 nautical miles (roughly 2,400 kilometers). This capability is intended to serve various markets across the Caribbean and nearby destinations.

Carlos Jiménez, executive vice president of the airline, stated that the arrival of the first of two acquired jets is a strategic step to consolidate the company's cargo segment and explore business opportunities that complement passenger operations. The move is part of a growth strategy to position the Dominican Republic as a logistical connection point in the region.
