AI/R Compass UOL launches AI solution on AWS Marketplace

AI/R Compass UOL, a subsidiary of the Agentic AI specialist AI/R, has announced the availability of its AI/Cockpit Smart Engineering solution on the AWS Marketplace. The tool integrates the AI/Cockpit platform with AWS Transform via the Composability program to accelerate mainframe exit programs.

The solution is designed to recover business rules embedded in legacy code and guide application modernization through to cloud delivery. It addresses the growing risk of a shrinking workforce skilled in mainframe technologies, which remain critical for sectors like banking and insurance. The platform handles discovery, documentation, and decomposition of legacy systems, supporting languages such as VisualAge, Assembly, and RPG that are not natively covered by AWS Transform.

In a reported insurance sector project, the technology modernized approximately 3 million lines of COBOL and VisualAge code. The project is expected to be completed in six months, significantly faster than the original 18-month estimate, with discovery and documentation phases performing 61% faster than traditional methods.
