Common mistakes in air conditioner usage can lead to poor cooling performance and increased electricity bills. One frequent issue is setting the temperature to 16°C in an attempt to cool a room faster; however, the set temperature does not dictate the initial cooling speed, and lower settings may cause the compressor to run longer without improving efficiency.

Another significant factor affecting cooling capacity is a dirty air filter. When dust and debris accumulate on the filter, airflow is restricted, preventing the system from effectively circulating cooled air. This often results in weak airflow and a slow reduction in room temperature, even if the machine appears to be running.

Additionally, users often confuse the ‘Cool’ and ‘Dry’ modes. The ‘Cool’ mode is designed for high-temperature weather to lower room temperature, while the ‘Dry’ mode is intended to reduce humidity on rainy or humid days. Using the incorrect mode for the current weather conditions can lead to inefficient energy consumption.
