While these mixtures can provide temporary cooling, they present risks such as inadequate lubrication or incorrect oil types for the system. Access to official refrigerants is restricted to certified professionals due to European regulations on fluorinated gases.

Regarding residential installation, apartment owners must navigate legal requirements when mounting units. Installing air conditioning often interferes with the common parts of a building, such as the facade or balcony. Consequently, housing cooperatives or associations may require formal notification or explicit consent for installations, even if the unit is privately owned, to ensure compliance with building safety, insulation, and aesthetic regulations.
