Air Congo expands fleet with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner
Air Congo has added a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to its fleet through a leasing agreement with MIAT Mongolian Airlines. The aircraft arrived at N’Djili International Airport in Kinshasa on October 27 and was scheduled to enter service on October 31.
The aircraft features a 292-seat configuration, including 30 business class, 36 premium economy, and 226 economy seats. This addition supports the airline's international expansion efforts, providing increased capacity and improved cabin options for long-haul routes.
Air Congo is a joint venture between the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which holds a 51% stake, and Ethiopian Airlines, which holds 49% and manages technical and operational aspects. The deal was coordinated by Chapman Freeborn, which facilitated the negotiations and delivery between the two airlines.
