Air Congo receives second Boeing 787 Dreamliner
Air Congo has taken delivery of a second Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner at Kinshasa airport. The aircraft was leased from MIAT Mongolian Airlines and flown from Ulaanbaatar to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The new widebody aircraft features a multi-class configuration designed for long-haul routes. According to Air Congo General Manager Weldegeorgis Mesfin, the plane will be deployed on European routes, specifically targeting destinations such as Brussels and Paris, as well as other upcoming operational routes.
Air Congo is a joint venture between the Congolese state, which holds a 51% stake, and Ethiopian Airlines, which holds 49%. This fleet expansion follows the airline's recent international launches, including the Kinshasa-Brussels route established in July 2026 and the expansion toward Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
