Air Force athletics see soccer win and water polo loss
In recent athletic competitions at the U.S. Air Force Academy, the Falcons secured a victory in women's soccer but suffered a narrow defeat in men's water polo.
In women's soccer, Air Force defeated UC Davis 3-1 in their Mountain West Conference opener. Despite UC Davis taking an early lead in the 14th minute via a Kaya Herndon free kick, the Falcons rallied. Jordan Dillingham equalized with a header in the 35th minute, and two second-half goals from Clara Teigland and Lauren Steinlage secured the win for Air Force.
In men's water polo, Air Force fell 14-13 to #18 Navy in a contest for the Freedom Vase. After holding a 9-8 lead in the third quarter, the Falcons experienced a scoring drought that allowed Navy to take control. Although Air Force mounted a late rally with three goals in the final 91 seconds, Navy held on to retain the trophy.
