Air Force women's soccer defeats Creighton 3-1

The Air Force women's soccer team defeated Creighton University 3-1 on Sunday, August 16, at the Air Force Academy. Despite Creighton outshooting the Falcons 21-8, Air Force capitalized on key scoring opportunities to secure their second win of the season.

Addie Doyle opened the scoring for the Falcons in the 20th minute. Creighton responded quickly through Jalen Chaney, who leveled the match at 1-1 just four minutes later. However, Air Force regained the lead in the 31st minute when Elizabeth McCarron scored her first collegiate goal. Gianna Gigliotti added an insurance goal late in the first half via a corner kick to extend the lead to 3-1.

Air Force goalkeeper Sydney Nelms recorded eight saves to protect the lead. With this victory, the Falcons move to a 2-0-0 record, while Creighton falls to 0-2-0. Air Force is scheduled to face Navy next on August 20, while Creighton will play Iowa State on August 23.
