Air France denies allegations of transporting weapons to Israel

Air France has denied allegations that it was involved in transporting weapons or military goods on a flight from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Tel Aviv. The airline stated that it has no bookings for such items on flight AF966.

The controversy arose following a campaign by labor unions, including the CGT and organizations associated with Solidaires. The unions claimed to have information regarding a shipment of planetary gears intended for military vehicle systems. They alleged the components were to be transported from Saint-Étienne through Lyon to Israel, with Elbit Systems Land identified as the recipient.

While the unions called on Air France and airport authorities to prevent the transport, the specific contents, origin, and destination of the alleged shipment have not been independently verified. The French government has previously stated that it does not supply weapons to Israel, though it noted that certain components for defense systems may be approved under strict inter-ministerial review.
