Air France restricts Algerian travelers to Morocco without residency permits

Air France has implemented a new boarding policy affecting Algerian nationals traveling to Morocco. Since September 16, 2026, the airline has been refusing boarding to Algerian citizens who do not possess a valid Moroccan residence permit or residency card.

This measure is reportedly being applied at airports in Algiers and Oran. While the airline's call center confirmed the rule, citing instructions allegedly received from Moroccan authorities, there has been no official public announcement from the Moroccan government regarding a general ban on Algerian travelers. High-level Moroccan sources have indicated that there is “nothing official” regarding such a restriction, leaving the exact origin and scope of the airline's directive unclear.
