Air Fryer Safety and Heating Efficiency Tips

Certain foods pose safety risks when prepared in an air fryer. High-fat meats like bacon or entrecôte can cause heavy smoke or fire hazards if fat splatters reach the heating coil. Additionally, light leafy vegetables such as spinach, kale, or lettuce can be drawn into the heating element by strong air circulation, potentially causing burns. Water-rich foods like cucumbers, watermelons, or soups are also unsuitable, as they can become soggy or cause messy splatters that damage the device.

To save on energy costs, households can utilize the small plastic pins, often called ‘Sparclips’ or saving clips, found on heating thermostats. By adjusting or removing these pins, users can set a maximum temperature limit on the regulator, preventing the heater from being turned up too high and helping to reduce heating expenses.
