Air fryers become versatile kitchen staples in Italy

Air fryers have transitioned from niche kitchen gadgets to common household appliances in Italy. While initially used primarily for frozen foods and crispy items like fries, they are now being utilized for a wide variety of dishes, including appetizers, first courses, main courses, side dishes, leavened doughs, and desserts.

Content creator Lorita Russo, who has been experimenting with the appliance since 2018 through her project ‘Friggi ad aria con Lorita’, highlights this evolution. Her work involves testing ingredients, adjusting temperatures, and documenting various cooking methods to demonstrate that the air fryer is a versatile preparation tool rather than just a tool for making crunchy foods.
