Air India and Drukair partner to boost India-Bhutan connectivity

Air India and Bhutan’s national carrier, Drukair-Royal Bhutan Airlines, have entered into an interline partnership to enhance travel connectivity between India, Bhutan, and international destinations.

The agreement allows passengers to book single-ticket itineraries that combine flights from both airlines. This includes coordinated baggage transfers through Air India’s hub at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, ensuring seamless end-to-end journeys to a final destination.

For Air India passengers, the deal provides easier access to Paro via Delhi from the airline’s global network, with onward connections to Bhutanese destinations such as Bumthang, Gelephu, and Yonphula. Conversely, Drukair passengers can connect through Delhi, Guwahati, and Kolkata to Air India’s domestic network and major international cities, including London, New York, Paris, and Sydney.

Air India Chief Commercial Officer Nipun Aggarwal stated the partnership reinforces a commitment to strengthening connectivity across the SAARC region. Drukair CEO Tandi Wangchuk noted the agreement marks a milestone in expanding the airline's global connectivity and improving passenger experience.
