Air Liquide announces semiconductor gas investment in Japan and carbon capture milestone

Air Liquide has announced a 170 million euro investment to supply ultra-high-purity gases to a leading semiconductor manufacturer in Japan. The project involves building and operating production units to deliver nitrogen, oxygen, argon, and hydrogen to support the expansion of a logic chip production facility. This initiative aims to meet the demands of the artificial intelligence and high-performance computing markets.

In a separate development regarding decarbonization, Air Liquide has completed a critical connection at its Rozenburg site, linking its Cryocap™ carbon capture plant to the Porthos pipeline network. This infrastructure allows for the transport and subsea storage of industrial CO2 emissions. Additionally, the company has joined a European industry alliance, including members such as Volvo Group and Toyota, to develop a hydrogen-powered truck ecosystem in Germany by 2030.
