Air Liquide appoints Mehdi Hireche as managing director of German unit

Air Liquide announced that Mehdi Hireche will become managing director of its German subsidiary on 1 July 2026, operating from Düsseldorf. In the role he will oversee business development and sustainable growth in Germany, succeeding Sebastian Jureczek, who moves to head the group’s research and development division. Hireche has been with Air Liquide since 2010, holding positions in healthcare, oil‑and‑gas services business development, investment control, research and development, and as head of the company’s medical‑technology business in Germany. Prior to this appointment he directed the group‑wide transformation and artificial‑intelligence acceleration programme from Paris, and he said he looks forward to driving industrial transformation, innovative solutions and growth in sectors such as semiconductors and the energy transition.
