Air Nostrum resumes Pamplona-Barcelona flights and receives sustainability award

Air Nostrum, the regional airline franchised by Iberia, has resumed flights between Pamplona and Barcelona. The route, supported by an agreement with Navarra, operates three times a week on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays using 100-seat CRJ1000 aircraft. The service aims to enhance connectivity for Navarrese passengers, offering links to 16 domestic and 34 international destinations via Barcelona through a codeshare agreement with Vueling and the Oneworld alliance. Early booking data shows 17% of passengers intend to connect through Barcelona to other locations, including Doha, Santiago de Chile, and London.

Separately, Air Nostrum was honored at the Forbes Spain-UBS Sustainability Awards 2026. The airline received the Sustainable Excellence-Environment and Transition Award in Madrid. President Carlos Bertomeu accepted the award, noting the company's long-standing commitment to environmental standards, including being one of the first Spanish airlines to use biofuel and obtain ISO 14001 certification. The company has also implemented AI tools like SkyBreathe to improve operational efficiency and utilizes Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
