Air Peace appoints new flight operations leadership
Air Peace has announced the promotion of two senior flight crew members to key executive positions to strengthen its leadership pipeline and support operational growth. Effective November 1, 2026, Captain James Adaviruku Onipe will assume the role of Director of Flight Operations (DFO), while Captain Ikechukwu Paul-Ugochukwu will serve as Chief Pilot (CP).
Captain Onipe brings nearly two decades of experience, having previously served as the airline’s Embraer 145 Fleet Manager and a Trainer and Check Airman. Captain Paul-Ugochukwu, who has 22 years of aviation experience, transitions from his role as a Boeing 777 Type Rating Instructor and Check Airman.
These appointments follow the elevation of the previous Director of Flight Operations, Captain Augustin Kamano, and former Chief Pilot, Captain Martin Okunpolor, to higher leadership roles within the Air Peace Group. The airline stated these changes reflect a commitment to internal career progression and building the capacity necessary for its expanding regional and international networks.
