Air quality alerts issued in Bouches-du-Rhône and Guadeloupe

Authorities in different French territories have issued air quality alerts due to varying pollutants. Emergency measures include reducing speed limits by 20 km/h on roads, limiting vessel speeds in Marseille and Fos basins, and activating emission reduction protocols for industrial sites. In Guadeloupe, a red alert for fine particulate matter (PM10) has been reactivated following a persistent Saharan sand haze. This desert dust, combined with human activities such as fossil fuel combustion and industrial processes, has significantly degraded air quality in the Antilles region.
