Air Serbia diverts Belgrade-Catania flights due to Mount Etna activity

Air Serbia has announced the diversion of flights between Belgrade and Catania due to volcanic activity from Mount Etna and the temporary closure of Catania Airport.

On Tuesday, September 29, 2026, flights JU438 and JU439 will be rerouted to Reggio Calabria Airport. To assist passengers, the airline is organizing bus transfers between Catania and Reggio Calabria.

The scheduled flight JU4438 from Belgrade to Reggio Calabria is set to depart at 07:00 local time, while flight JU4439 from Reggio Calabria to Belgrade is scheduled for 09:50 local time. Bus departures from Catania to the airport are planned for 05:00, with the return trip from Reggio Calabria scheduled for 09:30.
