Air Serbia flight evacuated in Split after bomb threat

An Air Serbia flight scheduled to depart from Split to Belgrade was evacuated on Monday afternoon following a bomb threat. The incident occurred around 15:25, shortly after the aircraft was scheduled to depart at 15:20.

Police reported that a 75-year-old male passenger informed crew members that a bomb was on board, though he subsequently claimed he was only joking. Following the threat, police entered the aircraft and removed the individual. The Split-Dalmatia Police Department initiated a criminal investigation into the man for suspected false alarm.

Security protocols required a full sweep of the aircraft, passengers, and luggage. No explosive devices were found during the inspection. After the security clearance, the flight was permitted to proceed and eventually departed for Belgrade shortly before 19:00.
