Air traffic controller flies to work via paramotor in Colorado
Jake Hutzler, a 28-year-old air traffic controller in Pueblo, Colorado, uses a paramotor to commute to work once a week. The process involves laying out a large wing, starting a motor, and running to achieve lift.
Hutzler flies at approximately 35 mph (56 kph) for about 20 minutes, soaring over local terrain and highways before landing on the airport ramp. Because his paramotor is too small to appear on radar, he maintains constant communication with his colleagues in the control tower to provide updates on his location and altitude.
Driven by a lifelong fascination with flight, Hutzler describes the experience as providing a unique sense of freedom and a view that few others get to experience.
