Travelers flying by plane must adhere to specific security regulations regarding medications and liquids to avoid confiscation or delays at airport checkpoints.

Certain medications, particularly those affecting the central nervous system or strictly regulated substances, may require additional documentation depending on the destination. These include substances containing codeine, strong analgesics like tramadol, morphine, or oxycodone, certain sleeping pills, benzodiazepines for anxiety, and some ADHD treatments. Experts recommend carrying essential medications in carry-on luggage rather than checked bags to ensure access and prevent loss.

Regarding liquids, the 100ml rule remains standard in many airports, particularly in Europe. This requires all liquids to be in containers of no more than 100ml, all placed within a single transparent, resealable plastic bag with a maximum capacity of one liter. Liquids in containers exceeding 100ml should be placed in checked luggage to avoid issues during security screenings.
