Aira expands energy offerings as battery storage becomes an investable asset class

Swedish company Aira is expanding its presence in the German market by introducing an integrated home energy system. Following its entry into the heat pump and photovoltaic module markets, the company is now offering the ‘Aira Power Store’, a battery storage unit with capacities ranging from seven to 20 kilowatt-hours, alongside the ‘Aira Power Hub’, a 15-kilowatt three-phase inverter designed to manage energy flow between solar modules, the grid, heat pumps, and storage.

On a broader scale, battery energy storage systems (BESS) are transitioning from technical components into a distinct investable asset class. Driven by a 93% reduction in installation costs between 2010 and 2024, storage is becoming a standard configuration for renewable energy projects. The integration of solar and storage at single sites grew by approximately 70% annually between 2020 and 2025, helping to stabilize energy supply and mitigate the impact of fluctuating wholesale electricity prices.
