AirAdvisor study ranks most and least expensive European airlines

An analysis by AirAdvisor ranking 23 European airlines has identified the most and least expensive carriers based on Revenue per Available Seat Kilometer (RASK). This metric accounts for total costs, including baggage and seat selection, rather than just the base ticket price.

Norway’s regional carrier Widerøe was identified as the most expensive airline, with a RASK of €0.32, largely due to its service to remote local airports. Among major national carriers, British Airways was the most expensive at €0.0888, followed by Air France, Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, and Aegean Airlines.

On the budget end, Hungarian carrier Wizz Air was ranked as the cheapest in Europe with a RASK of €0.0433. Other highly affordable options include easyJet and Ryanair. Among traditional national airlines, Finnair was noted as the most accessible choice for passengers.
