Airalzh Ets promotes art and museum visits for Alzheimer's care
Experts from Airalzh Ets (Associazione Italiana Ricerca Alzheimer) suggest that museum visits and artistic expression can serve as complementary pathways to traditional therapies for Alzheimer's patients and their caregivers. These activities aim to stimulate emotions, imagination, and sensory exploration.
In Tuscany, the ‘Tracce di Memoria’ project has been active for three years, facilitating group interactions between patients, families, and professionals through shared observation of artworks and participatory activities. This model is being expanded to Lombardy through a new project titled ‘Creative Age – Musei e arte per l’Alzheimer’, which focuses on well-being and inclusion for those living with dementia.
