AirAsia flight diverted to Clark leaves passengers needing medical attention

AirAsia Flight Z2 823, traveling from Da Nang to Manila, was diverted to Clark International Airport on August 17 due to inclement weather in Manila. During the diversion, at least two passengers required medical attention after reportedly losing consciousness.

Passengers alleged they were kept inside the aircraft for several hours without air conditioning, leading to panic and physical distress. Some travelers claimed they were not permitted to clear immigration at Clark and were only able to reach Manila in the early hours of August 18.

AirAsia stated that the diversion was necessary to ensure the safety of guests and crew. The airline explained that deplaning required coordination with airport authorities and immigration, and that passengers were assisted and accommodated at the boarding gate provided by the airport.
